Our Purpose

PURPOSE

ACA is a discipleship and college preparatory ministry.  The purpose of the Academy is to partner with the parents in the discipleship of their children through the study of  God’s Word, so the children may be transformed by the renewing of their minds in order to conform to the image of Christ while attaining academic excellence.

CHRIST-CENTERED EDUCATION

  1. All subjects are taught from a Christian perspective with God at the center forming the basis of how students are taught to view the world and the material they are learning. This is not intended to be a narrow view of education excluding alternative perspectives, but rather a broad view of each subject, looked at from a Christian world view.
  2. The teachers, staff, and administration will provide positive examples of living the Christian life. It is not enough to begin each day with prayer; the leaders must present a life that is consistent with what is taught.
  3. We seek to encourage students to grow in their own relationship with Jesus Christ. The home and the church are to be the primary influences in a child’s life. The school, however, should be consistent with and encourage those ideals that are being taught and developed in the home and church.

PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT

  1. It is primarily the parents’ responsibility to educate their children.  Parents may take advantage of the resources that a school can provide; however, the parents should not abdicate their responsibility to the school.
  2. Parents are encouraged to be involved in the educational process through membership on school committees, the parent/teacher fellowship, and directly assisting teachers in the classroom.
  3. Teachers will inform parents of their children’s progress on a frequent basis.

GOALS

  1. To create a learning environment with high academic standards designed to challenge and motivate all students to learn to their fullest potential.
  2. To provide inspired teachers that will foster a love of learning.
  3. To provide an orderly and disciplined environment conducive to learning.
  4. To emphasize personal responsibility, self-discipline, and basic Christian values that will foster good citizenship.
  5. To provide an integrated curriculum to show the unity of all knowledge.
